When it comes to choosing a camera for your photography apprenticeship, the debate between Nikon and Sony has been going on since the dawn of digital cameras. with the new Full frame cameras it can be tough to decide which is best for you, so let’s take a look at each one in turn and break down their strengths and weaknesses.

Let’s start with Nikon. Perhaps the most widely recognised name in photography hardware, Nikon has been around since 1917 and its reputation remains strong among photographers today. It offers an impressive range of cameras that are specifically designed for professional usage – from entry-level DSLRs to high-end mirrorless models. The latest models feature sophisticated autofocus systems that make shooting faster and easier than ever before, as well as a range of lenses and accessories. Nikon cameras are renowned for their excellent image quality, reliable performance, and intuitive controls.

Plus with its easy to use setting, Nikon has become the brand that many Professional Photographers look at when purchasing a new camera.

Sony’s Alpha series has become increasingly popular in recent years. The company offers an impressive selection of mirrorless cameras that provide the same high-end features as its competitors but with Sony’s signature modern design aesthetic. Many of the latest models come with powerful autofocus systems, fast shutter speeds, and 4K video recording capabilities – perfect for aspiring photographers looking to take their skills to the next level. Sony also produces some of the best lenses available on the market today, giving you plenty of options when it comes to capturing your shots.

So which one is better? Well, it ultimately depends on your needs and budget. Nikon cameras are a great choice for those who need top-of-the-line performance but over the last 5 years with the Full Frame camera they have not kept up pace with Canon and Sony, while Sony’s Alpha series provides an affordable alternative with the same features as its competitors and the colour and sharpness and face recognition is really something else. But do check out the Nikon Z8, this has just entered the market and in the shop and it is getter great reviews. If you’re starting out in photography and studying on the Photography Apprenticeship or looking to upgrade your existing camera, either of these brands could be a great fit – it just comes down to personal preference.

Regardless of which make you choose, an apprenticeship in photography will give you the skills and confidence to shoot like a pro. With the right equipment and guidance from experienced photographers who employ out learners, you will take beautiful photos that will last a lifetime. So don’t let the debate between Nikon and Sony stop you from pursuing your dreams – instead, pick the camera that’s best for you and start on your journey to becoming a master photographer!

The question will also be, which camera make will your employer be using, will they be Nikon, Cannon or Sony.
